Installing the "App"
Mobile apps are available for both iOS and Android, and a desktop app is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux computers.
Mobile App
What does installing the app on your phone or tablet get you?
- Always-on screen while viewing/playing songs
- Better Bluetooth speaker sync: highlighted beats stay in sync with audio
- Offline use: play all songs without an internet connection
- More room for Strum Machine’s interface than within the web browser
- And of course, a nice icon for your home screen!
To download the app, click the appropriate button below, or search for “strum machine” in your device’s app store.
Once you’ve downloaded the app, simply log in with your existing Strum Machine account. All your custom songs, lists, and settings will be synced between the app and the website.
Desktop App
The functionality is the same as in the browser, but you’ll get a Strum Machine launch shortcut/icon for easy access, and offline access is enabled by default. This is also a good option for those rare but annoying cases where bugs in the web browser are interfering with the operation of Strum Machine.
Download the desktop app here. The correct platform for your computer will automatically be detected so that the correct version of Strum Machine is downloaded and installed.
System requirements: Windows 10 or newer, macOS 12 or newer, or a 64-bit Linux OS.
You can also use the following direct download links to grab an installer for your Mac, Windows, or Linux computer.
Chrome-based Installation
You can use the Google Chrome web browser (or Microsoft Edge in some cases) to install Strum Machine to your computer, in a way that feels more or less the same as the app. To do this, go to strummachine.com/app/install in that browser and follow the instructions.
